Pay Better

When recruiting, you will get what you pay for. Look at the compensation other individuals in your industry are offering. To attract the best candidates, the pay you offer has to be better. As a new business owner, you may not have developed the reputation that some of your more established competition has. But if you offer more money, good talent may be willing to give you a chance. You might to be able to recruit good talent at a lower wage because they are in a financial bind. However, as soon as a better offer comes along, they are gone because low pay makes them feel underappreciated.

Emphasize the Benefits of Working for Your New Business

Your company will be more attractive to potential employees if they know things like flexible work hours, the option to work at home, in-house childcare, etc. are on the table. Talented people want a challenge. They want to know that there are opportunities for advancing, improving their skill, or gaining new responsibilities. This will not only help you recruit but will also help to motivate new employees to stick around.
